ABOUT LOCUM INDEPENDENCE

The Person Behind the System.

Locum Independence was built deliberately — by someone who watched independent physicians get fragmented advice and wanted a coordinated alternative.

David Swanson

David Swanson is the founder of a private wealth platform built for physicians who want greater control over their income, time, and long-term financial trajectory. He works primarily with locum tenens professionals, helping them operate with the structure and sophistication of a well-run business — without requiring them to manage it themselves.

Rather than acting as a traditional advisor, David built a coordinated wealth platform that brings together a team of specialists to manage every moving part of a physician's financial life in a unified, aligned way. This turnkey system is designed to eliminate the burden of juggling multiple disconnected professionals and replaces it with a single, cohesive strategy — allowing physicians to focus on earning income while the platform handles the strategy, structure, and execution behind the scenes.

Early in his career, David noticed a consistent pattern among high-income clients: despite working with multiple advisors — CPAs, financial planners, insurance agents, and attorneys — very few were actually coordinating with one another. Each operated independently, often leading to missed opportunities, conflicting strategies, and significant financial leakage over time. Recognizing that this wasn't a knowledge problem but a coordination problem, he built the Locum Independence model to solve it — creating a system where the right professionals are aligned, decisions are intentional, and every part of a client's financial life works together.

With over a decade of experience, David has owned and operated two wealth management firms focused on advanced tax reduction strategies for business owners and high-income individuals. His work centers on designing efficient financial structures that reduce unnecessary tax exposure, improve cash flow, and align financial decisions with a clearly defined long-term vision. He holds securities licenses, real estate licensure, and life and health insurance licenses, and is a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®).

As a vendor member of the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations, David maintains direct alignment with the locum tenens community and brings specialized insight into the unique income structures and planning challenges physicians face in non-traditional career paths. Guided by the belief that most physicians don't have an income problem but a coordination problem, his approach replaces fragmentation with a centralized system — helping clients build wealth with precision and ultimately achieve a level of independence where work becomes optional and financial decisions are made with clarity and confidence.
